Built for the gap between a bookkeeper and a finance team.
You have outgrown basic bookkeeping. You are not ready to build a finance team.
Lakeside Partners exists because that gap goes unserved. Businesses reach a point where they need real financial leadership — someone who can build the reporting, the controls, and the discipline behind the numbers — long before they can justify hiring for it full-time.
That is the part we do. Clean books, financial infrastructure that holds up, and the insight to make decisions with confidence as the business grows.
The Team

Dylan Farwell
Cofounder, Lakeside Partners
Dylan brings more than eight years of finance, accounting, audit, and consulting experience to every client engagement. A graduate of Babson College, he began his career at Deloitte, where he served as controller on multiple engagements for global brands including Tiffany & Co., Citibank, and the International Olympic Committee. He then moved into an internal audit role at Verizon, spending three years evaluating financial controls and operations inside one of America's largest companies.
Today, Dylan puts that Fortune 500 and Big Four rigor to work for the businesses that need it most: local contractors and trades companies. His conviction is simple — a $3M construction business deserves the same quality of financial insight as a $30B one. From clean, job-costed books to cash forecasting and bonding-ready financials, he helps owners see their numbers clearly, protect their margins, and make decisions with confidence.

Alec Larue
Cofounder, Lakeside Partners
Alec Larue is a cofounder of Lakeside Partners, where he provides fractional controller and CFO advisory services for growing businesses that need senior-level financial leadership. His focus is building the financial infrastructure, reporting discipline, and strategic insight that let founders and leadership teams make confident decisions and scale with control.
Alec's career began in government defense contracting, where he served as a project controller managing budgets ranging from $3 million to $100 million. In that highly regulated, high-stakes environment, he developed a rigorous approach to budget management, compliance, and financial reporting — discipline that continues to shape how he approaches this work today.
He later joined a small-to-midsize business as its controller, stepping in to build the company's financial infrastructure from the ground up: implementing internal controls and reporting systems, standing up a payroll platform, and helping leadership secure bank financing to fund the company's growth. He continues to lead the company's finance function today, applying the same rigor and hands-on execution that now define his work at Lakeside Partners.
Alongside that role, Alec cofounded Lakeside Partners to bring that same combination of financial discipline and hands-on execution to other growing businesses — turning financial data into a clear, actionable roadmap for growth.
